InnoST has recently developed a low thermo-conductivity HTS wire for current lead application. This wire has a critical current Ic of greater than 100A (77k, self-field) and an engineering critical current density Je of greater than 10000A/cm2. Also, the wire is of high mechanical strength. The metallic Ag/Au sheath of the wire could also provide an electrical by-pass and therefore improve the safety of the current leads. Up to now, InnoST has incorporated this wire into several kinds of current leads whose maximum current can be up to 20 kA.
